Eric will be a plenary speaker at the 2025 Pastor Theologians Conference, Good Shepherds: Pastoral Identity and the Future of the Church. On this episode, Eric talks about how his story shaped his interests and calling in church history and pastoral ministry. Drawing from his context as a pastor at a multi-ethnic church in the north Chicago area, he also shares what he has learned it means to be a Good Shepherd in the 21st Century.

Eric Rivera (PhD Trinity Evangelical Divinity School) is the Lead Pastor at The Brook, a multiethnic church in Chicago that he and his team planted in 2013. Eric is passionate for mobilizing the church to be on mission in an urban context. He is the is author of Christ is Yours (Lexham 2019) and a book on how the resurrected Jesus meets people in their mess (Forthcoming Kirkdale Press 2022). He married his best friend Erikah in 2003 and together are parents to three amazing kids.
